The Development Analyst/Coordinator will provide support to the Office of Development. This role is responsible for the performance, integrity, accuracy, security, and analysis of the development databases regarding structure and content. This position will ensure proper use of the donor database by other staff; provide oversight to ensure accurate and timely gift entry, generate accurate reports and targeted mailing lists, and provide analysis of giving trends to support fundraising and marketing efforts. The Development Analyst/Coordinator will work closely with the Development and Marketing Teams to provide key background information on potential new donors and to support the procurement of gifts from current donors.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Development, Finance, and Marketing Teams to maintain and update donor and gift records, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation between Raiser’s Edge (RE) and Financial Edge (FE). Interfaces with Annual Giving vendors on a day-to-day basis; evaluates vendor partnerships on an annual basis under the guidance of the Director.
· Manages data flow for the online giving platform, matching gift software, and other key technology platforms.
· Works with large data sets and generates analytical reports that inform the office on campaign performance, donor performance, giving behaviors, and more.
· Generates regular dashboard reports that monitor progress toward donor and dollar goals.
· Work closely with the Development and Marketing & Communication Teams to help reach fundraising goals and steward donors.
· Analyzes data regarding annual giving programs and past giving trends to provide analyses of program results and plan for advanced segmentation; coordinates with the Development Team on executing the segmentation recommendations.
· Assists the Development Team in providing data points to establish data-driven fundraising goals, objectives, strategies, schedules, and analysis of results for each element of the annual giving program.
· Manipulates donor data to prepare sophisticated segmentation of direct marketing and volunteer lists, ensuring high personalization while maintaining data integrity.
· Conduct sophisticated research and analysis to identify new potential donors using online searches and donor screening tools, like iWave.
· Research and provide key background information for identifying and procuring gifts from current donors.
· Additionally, explore emerging technologies to best meet fundraising goals and, if appropriate, lead implementation of said technology.
· Proactively screen and identify prospective donors through routine reviews of newspapers, periodicals, and business publications.
· Prepare, finalize, and send out Development correspondence, including editing and printing, as well as recognition materials. This could include donor reconciliation, thank you letters, plaques, and gift bags.
· Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions.
· Prepare and send out correspondence and documents.
· Prepare agendas and schedules for meetings and events for team members.
· Proofread and edit a variety of communications.
· Attends department, division, and campus-wide meetings, events and programs.
· Other duties as assigned and as needed.
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Experience supporting fundraising campaigns.
· 3+ years of higher education or non-profit experience
· Proficient skills in Blackbaud Merchant Services (including Raiser's Edge, NXT, Event Module, and ResearchPoint) required, including experience with database queries, import/export, and reporting functions. Advanced skills preferred.
· Skilled in the use of research databases, including iWave, Wealth-X, etc.
· Excellent communication, proofreading, and editing skills required.
· Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently.
· Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
