Associate Vice President for Advancement Services

Bryant Group continues our partnership with Boise State University Foundation to recruit the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services.

Boise State University Foundation is seeking a visionary Associate Vice President for Advancement Services (AVP) to provide transformative leadership and shape the future of philanthropy at one of the nation’s most innovative public universities. Reporting directly to the Foundation CEO, the AVP drives the strategic direction of the development and alumni relations infrastructure, playing a key role in advancing Boise State’s mission through data-driven insights and cutting-edge operational excellence. This influential leader will guide four high-impact teams—Advancement Systems & Information Delivery, Gift Handling & Administration, Prospect Development and Stewardship—to create an exceptional, donor-focused experience that fuels philanthropic success.

As a senior member of the Foundation’s executive team, the AVP champions a culture of service, strategy and innovation, managing the central CRM system (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT) to ensure data is secure, accessible and strategically leveraged. This role is instrumental in fostering a performance-driven environment where analytics and technology guide decision-making, elevate fundraising campaigns and unlock new opportunities for growth—especially as Boise State advances its ambitious comprehensive campaign. More than just an operational leader, the AVP also serves as the Foundation’s compliance officer, shaping policy and governance in close partnership with University and finance leaders. From overseeing gift processing and software selection to ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, the AVP plays a key role in upholding transparency, accountability and mission impact. For a passionate, data-savvy leader who thrives on building relationships and driving systems-level change, this role offers a powerful platform to make a lasting difference.

The ideal candidate brings at least eight years of experience in advancement services or a related field with a minimum of five years in a leadership role. A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s is strongly preferred. This person is a strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of managing complex projects and leading high-performing teams. They should have deep knowledge of IRS regulations, CASE guidelines and best practices in gift processing, accounting and stewardship. Most importantly, the candidate will be a collaborative, relationship-driven leader who thrives in a mission-focused environment and is eager to drive systems, policies and people toward meaningful philanthropic impact.
