Western Michigan University is seeking a dynamic Director Annual Giving to lead our university-wide annual giving campaign and related fundraising initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine creativity, strategy, and relationship-building to inspire generosity and strengthen the Bronco community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising campaigns in close collaboration with University Advancement staff.
  • Establish annual fund campaign goals, timelines, and measurable outcomes; create evaluation tools and analytics to assess strategy effectiveness.
  • Serve as the liaison to college and unit-based partners, providing strategic consultation and coordinating annual giving calendars.
  • Develop targeted strategies for specific donor segments.
  • Oversee program evaluation and reporting systems; compile and analyze data to measure fundraising effectiveness and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with vendors on printing, mailing, and fulfillment of campaign materials; monitor vendor performance and manage contracts.
  • Manage unit budgets, including projections and recommendations.

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of professional experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency with donor management or CRM software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during peak campaign periods.
