Associate Vice President, Development
Bryant Group continues our partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno to recruit the Associate Vice President, Development.
The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a dynamic Associate Vice President, Development to serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on fundraiser for the University. This position combines operational leadership, personal fundraising responsibilities, strategic planning and partnership functions. Working closely with the Vice President for Advancement, the AVP, Development plays a critical role in building and strengthening the University's fundraising operations while fostering a more sustainable and mature culture of philanthropy across the institution.
The person in this role will lead fundraising efforts at the highest levels, take ownership of strategic initiatives, and implement the infrastructure necessary for philanthropic success. The AVP, Development will serve as a vital bridge between the development team and university leadership, including deans and senior administrators, ensuring seamless integration and accountability in fundraising efforts campus-wide. This position requires not only vision and creativity, but also a resolute commitment to execution, to the students of the University and to success.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and bring a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or nonprofit development. Candidates must demonstrate a strong knowledge of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major and principal gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations and prospect research along with a proven ability to personally cultivate and solicit significant gifts, while also building and leading high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders and occasional travel capability are essential.
