Summary

The Georgia Tech Alumni Association is seeking an Assistant Manager of Alumni Engagement Data to support the collection, transformation, and utilization of data from a variety of systems and sources in support of deepening engagement with Georgia Tech alumni across four modes defined in CASE Insights on Alumni Engagement: communications, experiential, volunteer, and philanthropic. The Assistant Manager of Alumni Engagement reports to the Alumni Systems Manager within the Roll Call and Data Strategy team. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience working in a data-focused role, such as a data administrator, CRM analyst, data coordinator, or similar position supporting ongoing business operations. This position requires technical expertise, strong customer service, and attention to detail and plays a key role in contributing to an organization-wide culture of data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with data from multiple systems and understand how those systems interact, with Blackbaud CRM experience strongly preferred.
  • Query, extract, and transform data to support reporting, analysis, and operational needs.
  • Assess data quality, identify inconsistencies or integration issues, and take initiative in resolving or escalating them appropriately.
  • Support standard and ad hoc reporting requests for stakeholders by understanding the underlying business questions, clarifying requirements, and communicating data limitations and insights clearly.
  • Align engagement data collection, reporting, and utilization with industry standards (CASE Insights on Alumni Engagement) and support reporting and benchmarking efforts.
  • Document and regularly update standard operating processes.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience required; background in higher education, fundraising, or non-profit environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and routine data cleansing and manipulation tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Python and SQL is a plus but not required; candidates should demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn new data tools and techniques as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain data concepts and findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
